Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Theodosius II facing right, depicted in the late Roman imperial style typical of the early 5th century. The emperor's effigy is rendered in low relief with visible folds of the paludamentum across the shoulder. The circumferential Latin legend reads D N THEODO-SIVS P F AVG, identifying the ruler by name with the imperial titles Pius Felix Augustus. The flan is irregular and slightly chipped at the edges, consistent with hammered bronze coinage of this period.
