Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Theodosius I facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style typical of the Siscia mint. The emperor wears a pearl diadem, with drapery visible over the left shoulder and armor over the chest. The portrait is executed in low relief on an irregularly shaped flan. The encircling obverse legend reads DN THEODOSIVS PF AVG, positioned around the bust from lower left to lower right.
