The emperor's features are strongly modelled, with a pronounced brow and short neck, conveying imperial authority. A laurel wreath encircles the head, with trailing ties visible behind. The encircling legend reads IMP C GAL VAL MAXIMINVS P F AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan.
