Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Maximinus II (Daia) facing right, depicted with strong, angular facial features characteristic of the Tetrarchic style. The emperor wears a radiate or laureate crown and military cuirass, conveying imperial authority. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C GAL VAL MAXIMINVS P F AVG, distributed around the full periphery of the flan within a beaded border. The portrait is rendered in the late Roman provincial manner, with broad modeling and relatively low relief consistent with the Nicomedia mint's output of this period.
