Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Maximinus II as Caesar facing right, with finely rendered hair and short beard visible beneath the laurel wreath. The effigy is portrayed in a robust, authoritative style characteristic of the Tetrarchic period, with the emperor shown in military attire including a paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads MAXIMINVS NOBILIS C, identifying the emperor in his capacity as Caesar. The coin displays an irregular flan edge and an attractive dark patina consistent with a bronze nummus of this era.
