| Reverse description | Jupiter, nude save for a chlamys draped across his left shoulder, stands facing left in a commanding pose. In his outstretched right hand he holds a globe, while his left arm leans upon a long vertical sceptre. To the left, an eagle stands with wings partially spread, holding a wreath in its beak, a symbol of divine victory presented to the emperor. At the lower right, a captive figure is seated or kneeling, representing subjugated enemies. In the right field, the value mark X-II Mu (indicating the coin's relationship to the silver standard) is clearly positioned. The reverse legend IOVI CONSERVATORI encircles the design, invoking Jupiter as protector of the Augusti, and the mint mark SMAL followed by an officina letter appears in the exergue. |
