Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Licinius I facing right, depicted with short hair beneath a laurel wreath and wearing a paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the late Roman imperial style, with strong, somewhat idealised facial features characteristic of Tetrarchic and early Constantinian coinage. The circumferential Latin legend reads IMP LICI-NIVS AVG, divided across the field, identifying the emperor by his imperial titles.
