Obverse description Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust of Julian II facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style with naturalistic portraiture. The obverse legend IMP IVLIANVS NOB CAES runs clockwise around the periphery. A control mark 'M' appears in the field behind the bust. The flan shows the characteristic irregular shape typical of mid-fourth century bronze nummi from the Lugdunum mint.
