Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Jovianus facing right, wearing a beaded diadem with pendilia visible behind the head. The hair is rendered in fine parallel strokes with a distinctive row of beads across the crown. The paludamentum is fastened at the shoulder and partially visible at the bust truncation. The encircling obverse legend D N IOVIANVS P F AVG runs clockwise around the periphery in crisp Roman capitals.
