Reverse description A large plain Latin cross dominates the central field of the reverse, its arms extending nearly to the inner border of the legend. The cross is rendered in bold relief against an otherwise plain field, symbolizing the increasingly Christian character of late Roman imperial coinage. The mint signature CONSA appears in the exergue, identifying the Constantinople mint's first officina. The surrounding legend CONCORDIA AVG is distributed around the periphery, invoking the harmony of the Augusti.
