Obverse description Draped bust of Empress Helena facing right, diademed with an elaborately braided and ridged coiffure, wearing a mantle over the shoulders and a beaded necklace. The effigy is rendered in a naturalistic late-Roman imperial style, with the legend encircling the portrait within a beaded border. The portrait conveys regal dignity befitting Helena's elevation to the rank of Augusta.
