Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Galerius (as Caesar, styled MAXIMIANVS NOB CAES) facing right, rendered in the robust Tetrarchic style characteristic of the Diocletianic reform coinage. The portrait displays closely cropped hair beneath a laurel wreath, with a short beard, and the truncation of the bust cut diagonally at the shoulder. The circumscribed Latin legend runs clockwise around the portrait within a beaded border.
