Obverse description Draped bust of Fausta facing right, her hair elaborately waved and drawn back in a distinctive Constantinian court style, with a braided bun at the nape of the neck. The empress wears a simple mantle fastened at the shoulder, rendered with fine drapery folds. The Latin legend FAVSTA N F (Fausta Nobilissima Femina) is disposed around the periphery of the flan, identifying the subject as Augusta and consort of Constantine I. The portrait is executed in a naturalistic late-antique style with a well-modelled profile and a beaded border framing the design.
