Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Crispus facing left, rendered in late Roman imperial style with fine detail on the paludamentum and lorica. The portrait conveys youthful imperial authority befitting Crispus's rank as Caesar. The surrounding circular legend in Latin capitals reads FL IVL CRISPVS NOB CAES, identifying the prince as Flavius Julius Crispus, Most Noble Caesar. A beaded border frames the design.
