Reverse description A funerary altar, lit and adorned with a garland or festoons, occupies the center of the field as the principal type, flanked on each side by an eagle with wings spread — emblems of imperial apotheosis and the deified emperor's ascent to the heavens. The altar's form is consistent with Roman consecratio reverse types issued following an emperor's posthumous deification. The encircling legend MEMORIA FELIX celebrates the blessed memory of the late emperor, all contained within a beaded border.
