Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Constantius II facing right, wearing a laureate and rosette-diadem; the effigy is rendered in the late Roman imperial style typical of the Constantinian period. The obverse legend CONSTANT-IVS P F AVG encircles the bust, identifying the emperor with his pious and fortunate epithets. The portrait displays a youthful idealized profile consistent with official Aquileian workshop production of the mid-fourth century.
