Reverse description A camp gate with two turreted towers surmounted by a star above the central battlements, depicted without doors and with a variable number of horizontal stone courses rendered across the gate's façade. The design symbolizes Roman military strength and imperial Providence. The legend PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS is divided across the field to either side of the gate. The officina letter and mint signature appear in the exergue below a ground line, identifying the Thessalonica mint.
