| Reverse description | Standing figure of Genius, the divine personification of the Roman people, depicted facing left in a contrapposto stance. Genius is nude save for a chlamys draped over his left shoulder, and wears a modius (grain measure) upon his head, symbolising abundance. In his right hand he holds a patera (libation dish) over a small altar, and in his left hand a cornucopiae (horn of plenty). A letter appears in the left field and a star in the right field as officina and control marks respectively. The mint mark appears in the exergue. |
