Reverse description The Capitoline she-wolf (Lupa Capitolina) stands facing left, her head lowered to suckle the twin infants Romulus and Remus, who are depicted below her belly. Two stars appear in the upper field, one to either side, symbolising divine favour. The exergue contains a star followed by the mint and officina mark (e.g. *SMKA, *SMKB, or *SMK∈), identifying the Cyzicus mint. A beaded border frames the entire reverse design.
