Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right, depicted in a bold, slightly stylized late Roman manner. The emperor's effigy is encircled by the Latin legend IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG, running from lower left to upper right around the periphery of the flan. The laurel wreath is rendered with individual leaves clearly articulated, and the cuirass is visible at the truncation of the neck. The coin displays a characteristic green patina over a brown bronze core consistent with long burial. The overall portrait conveys imperial authority in the transitional artistic style of the early Constantinian period.
