Reverse description Mars, nude and helmeted, advancing briskly to the right, holding a transverse spear in his raised right hand and a round shield in his left hand. The reverse legend MARTI PATRI PROPVGNATORI, meaning 'To Mars the Father, the Defender', runs around the periphery. Control letters CI appear to the left of the figure and H/S to the right in the field. The mintmark of Lugdunum (Lyon) appears in the exergue, identifying this issue as a product of the first officina of that mint during the early reign of Constantine I.
