| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Constantine I facing right, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the sturdy, idealised style characteristic of the Constantinian period. The radiate wreath crown is clearly articulated with individual laurel leaves, and the emperor’s strong jawline and prominent brow reflect the official imperial portrait type established after 310 AD. The legend CONSTAN-TINVS AVG runs in a circular arc around the effigy, divided across both sides of the field. A beaded border frames the design. |
