Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right, laureate, with finely rendered hair beneath the laurel wreath. The emperor's effigy is depicted in the characteristic Constantinian style, with a strong profile and detailed drapery visible at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads CONSTANTINVS AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan.

Reverse description A camp gate depicted facing, without doors, surmounted by two turrets, with a star appearing above in the field between the turrets, and a variable number of horizontal stone courses rendered across the body of the gate. The type evokes Roman military fortification and imperial providential foresight. The obverse legend PROVIDENTIAE AVGG encircles the design, while the mintmark in the exergue identifies the officina and mint of Arelate.
