| Obverse description | Laureate head of Constantine I facing right, rendered in the bold, somewhat stylized manner characteristic of early Constantinian coinage. The emperor's effigy displays closely cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath, with strongly modeled facial features including a prominent jaw and large eye. The obverse legend IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG runs clockwise around the periphery within a beaded border. The portrait is bare-necked, without drapery or cuirass, consistent with the early nummus type struck at Siscia during this period. |
