| Reverse description | Sol Invictus stands facing left, nude save for a chlamys draped over his left shoulder and falling behind, his radiate crown clearly rendered with outward-pointing rays. He raises his right hand in a gesture of salutation or benediction, while his left hand holds a globe symbolising universal dominion. The letter C appears in the left field and S in the right field, serving as officina or control marks. The mint signature PARL appears in the exergue, identifying production at Arelatum (Arles). The reverse legend SOLI INVICTO COMITI encircles the design, dedicating the issue to the Unconquered Sun as companion of the emperor. |
