Obverse description Laureate bust of Constantine I facing right, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the characteristic late Roman imperial style with strong, idealized facial features. The emperor's portrait displays a prominent jaw and thick neck typical of Constantinian coinage. The laurel wreath encircles the head with clearly defined leaves. The Latin legend is disposed around the periphery of the flan, reading CONSTAN-TINVS AVG. The flan is irregular in shape, as is characteristic of hammered nummi of this period.
