Reverse description A tall, ornately decorated altar or tribunal stands at centre, its face inscribed with the votive legend VOT / IS / XX arranged in three lines within a rectangular panel; flames or a globe rise from the top of the altar. Three stars are distributed across the upper field, one above and one to each side of the altar's summit, symbolising celestial favour and imperial eternity. The encircling legend BEATA TRANQVILLITAS — 'Blessed Tranquility' — commemorates the peace established by Constantine's victories. The composition is framed by a beaded border.
