| Obverse description | Helmeted and draped bust of Roma facing left, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet adorned with a plume, and an imperial paludamentum fastened at the shoulder with a decorative fibula. The effigy is rendered in high relief with bold, confident die-cutting characteristic of the Constantinian period. The encircling Latin legend VRBS ROMA is divided across the field, reading from left to right around the bust. The portrait personifies the eternal city of Rome in the tradition of the dea Roma iconography. |
