Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Constans I facing right, portrayed as a youthful Caesar with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The effigy displays the characteristic late Constantinian style with a slightly elongated neck and schematic drapery folds rendered in low relief. The encircling Latin legend reads FL CONSTANS NOB CAES, identifying the emperor by his full titulature as Flavius Constans, Nobilissimus Caesar. The flan is irregular and slightly off-centre, consistent with hand-struck production at the Heraclean officina during the mid-330s.
