Additional information

The FEL TEMP REPARATIO ("the restoration of happy times") coinage was launched in 348 AD to mark the 1,100th anniversary of Rome's founding, a massive empire-wide issue that flooded circulation in enormous quantities. Siscia — modern Sisak in Croatia — was one of the most productive mints of the later empire, well-positioned to supply the Danubian frontier armies. Constans was assassinated by the usurper Magnentius in January 350, which makes the upper date range on this type effectively his final months of production.
