| Reverse description | The phoenix, symbol of imperial renewal and eternal Rome, stands facing right atop a pyramidal pyre or rocky mound, holding a radiate crown in its beak. The reverse type belongs to the celebrated FEL TEMP REPARATIO series issued under Constans I and Constantius II, invoking the felicitous restoration of the times. The encircling legend commences at 7 o'clock without interruption, while the exergue contains the mint and officina mark followed by a pellet. This particular type was struck at the mint of Treveri (modern Trier) in multiple officinae. |
