| Obverse description | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constans I facing right, wearing a rosette diadem with elaborately styled hair. The emperor is depicted in military attire with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, rendered in fine late Roman provincial style. The circumferential Latin legend reads DN CONST-NS P F AVG, identifying the emperor as dominus noster Constans, Pius Felix Augustus. The portrait displays the characteristic elongated facial features and large eyes associated with Constantinian-era coinage from the Lugdunum mint. |
