Reverse description The mythological phoenix, symbol of renewal and eternal empire, stands facing left atop a globus in the central field. The bird is depicted with its characteristic crested head and spread wings, embodying the propagandistic message of imperial regeneration. The reverse legend encircles the type, while the mint mark appears in the exergue identifying the Antioch officina. This reverse type was introduced as part of the major FEL TEMP REPARATIO coinage reform of AD 348, commemorating the eleven-hundredth anniversary of Rome's founding.
