Reverse description Two helmeted, draped, and cuirassed soldiers stand facing one another, each gripping a spear in the outer hand while resting the inner hand upon a grounded shield. Between the two figures stand two military standards, with a tree depicted between the standards — a distinctive variant of the GLORIA EXERCITVS type. The reverse legend GLORIA EXERCITVS, meaning Glory of the Army, is divided across the field flanking the central group. The mintmark PCONST appears in the exergue, identifying production at the first officina of the Arelate (Arles) mint.
