Reverse description A bold Latin cross occupies the centre of the reverse field, its upright and horizontal arms clearly delineated in relief against the flat bronze surface. Beneath the cross, a horizontal line divides the field from the exergue, within which the mint mark of the Cyzicus mint is inscribed. The surrounding legend CONCOR-DIA AVGGG, meaning the Concordia (harmony) of the three Augusti, encircles the design and reflects the dynastic ideology of the Theodosian period. The border consists of an irregular dotted or beaded rim typical of the late Roman nummus series. The coin was struck at the first officina of the Cyzicus mint, denoted by the mark SMKA.
