Within a quatrefoil studded with small crosses, the bust of Saint Mary, haloed and facing right. In an outer circle, the legend in French and the name of the engraver and city of issue. The engraver`s initials are also in the corners, below the truncation.

Within an oval studded with small crosses, Saint Louis de Gonzague, haloed and facing front, stands facing left, holding Jesus on the cross with both hands. At the exergue, in a medallion, the symbol of the Society of Jesus (Monogram of Christ), of which Saint Aloysius was a member. Latin legend all around, in a four-lobed floral design.
