| Obverse description | Armored cavalryman advancing to left on horseback, his bearded, laureate head turned frontally to address the viewer, right hand raised in salute. A pileus and magistrate's monogram appear in the upper right field. The magistrate's signature legend ΞΕ ΝΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ and the abbreviated civic ethnic ΤΚΡ are inscribed in the field. The composition exhibits the confident, naturalistic rendering characteristic of the Tarentine workshop during the late independent period. |
