Reverse description The eponymous hero Taras, nude, seated to the left astride a dolphin, holding a trident upright in his right hand and an indistinct object in his outstretched left hand. To the right of the central figure stands a decorated kithara (lyre) on a base, flanked by a small trident symbol. The magistrate's control mark ΠΙ appears in the left field. The ethnic ΤΑΡΑΣ is inscribed along the lower exergual line in Greek letters, identifying the issuing city.
