Reverse description A stylised barley ear of seven grains dominates the centre of the flan, the stalk curving elegantly to the right. To the left of the stalk, a broad leaf extends horizontally, above which rises a detailed palmette flanked by tendrils. The ethnic legend ΜΕΤΑΠΟN is inscribed vertically to the right of the ear in clear Greek characters. The design is rendered in incuse relief, a hallmark of early Achaean colonial coinage in Magna Graecia, with the whole composition contained within a plain incuse square field.
