| Obverse description | A Delphic tripod occupies the central field, its three legs terminating in lion's paw feet and resting upon a plain base; a heron stands to the right of the tripod, facing left. The retrograde ethnic legend ϘΡO (Kroton) is inscribed upward along the left side of the field. The composition is rendered in fine relief against a flat flan, characteristic of the Achaean incuse tradition adapted at Kroton during the early Classical period. |
