NGZ — Nadel-Geldverarbeitungs-Zentrale — was a West German firm specializing in high-speed banknote processing and sorting equipment. Test notes of this type were produced for calibration and demonstration purposes, not for any monetary authority, and were never intended to circulate. They exist to prove a machine works, not to function as money.
Collector interest is narrow but genuine, largely from those documenting the mechanical infrastructure of mid-to-late twentieth century cash handling.
