Reverse description The reverse depicts Napoleon, draped in antique style and holding a sword, standing upright before a kneeling allegorical female figure representing France, who wears a mural crown and reaches out both arms toward him in a gesture of supplication and welcome; a rooster, symbol of France, crouches at her side. In the right background, a ship's gangway is visible, referencing Napoleon's return from Egypt. The arc legend EXSPECTATE VENI appears in the upper field, with the two-line inscription in the exergue recording the happy arrival of Napoleon on 9 October 1799, along with the engraver's name JP RETHORE.
