Reverse description Roughly square incuse punch divided into triangular quadrants by diagonal grooves meeting at the centre, creating a characteristic mill-sail or windmill pattern within the recessed field. The incuse is deeply impressed, consistent with early archaic Greek hammered coinage technique in which a simple punch was driven into the reverse of the planchet to secure the metal during striking. The surface within the incuse is granular and uneven. No inscription or additional device is present.
