Reverse description A single deep incuse square punch dominates the reverse, divided internally by intersecting diagonal ridges creating a rough quadripartite pattern with textured surfaces within each section. This characteristic mill-sail or windmill incuse type is typical of early Ionian electrum fractions struck in the late seventh to early sixth century BC, serving as a countermark confirming the metal content and weight of the flan. The punch is sharply impressed into the flat reverse surface with no legend or additional device.
