Reverse description Full-length standing effigy of Saint Maurelius, first Bishop of Ferrara, vested in episcopal robes and mitre, his right hand raised in the act of blessing and his left hand holding a pastoral staff vertically along the body. The figure occupies the central field in a frontal hieratic pose. The circumferential Latin legend, punctuated by star ornaments, identifies the saint and his episcopal see, contained within a beaded rim.
