Obverse description Central device depicts a detailed relief of the Eiffel Tower occupying most of the field, flanked by decorative lattice panels on either side. Two arrow-shaped banners bearing the construction date '1889' to the left and the height '324m' to the right extend from the tower's mid-section. The legend 'TOUR EIFFEL' arcs along the upper periphery, with 'PARIS' inscribed in the lower exergue.
