| Obverse description | The obverse bears a multi-line inscription in Nastaliq script (Persian-Urdu) arranged across the coin's field, incorporating the regnal name and titles of Sudarshan Shah, ruler of Garhwal. The bold, deeply incised lettering dominates the entire face without a surrounding border legend. A date in the Hijri calendar is rendered at the base of the inscription. The script is executed in a fluid calligraphic style characteristic of early nineteenth-century hill-state coinage of the Garhwal region. |
