Obverse description The obverse field is entirely occupied by three horizontal lines of Persian/Urdu script in bold raised relief, arranged in a characteristic Mughal coin layout with a central cartouche band flanked by upper and lower legend lines. The inscription names the Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II and invokes the royal titulature in flowing Nastaliq calligraphy.
