| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Ptolemy III Euergetes facing right, wearing an elaborate radiate crown set upon a diadem. The effigy is adorned with an aegis worn in the manner of a chlamys across the chest and shoulder. An ornate trident is depicted over the far shoulder, its middle prong ornamented with a lotus bud finial. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic royal idiom, combining divine and regal attributes. |
