| Reverse description | Central design features a long cross pattée dividing the field into four quadrants, with a small shield bearing the arms of Brabant superimposed at the centre. Each quadrant of the cross is plain, consistent with the simplified typology of small billon mites struck for the Leuven mint. A beaded inner circle frames the central motif. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin characters denotes the mint city of Leuven and identifies the issue as a new coinage. The hammered flan shows characteristic irregularity in strike and edge formation. |
